2025. Detection and monitoring systems for the safety of the new railway connection to the Outer Port of A Coruña.
The railway connection to the Outer Port of A Coruña, at Punta Langosteira, is one of the main railway infrastructure projects currently underway in Galicia and represents a strategic connection for the future of the port. The new railway branch will be 6.7 kilometres long, approximately 5.3 kilometres of which will run underground.
The project includes three main tunnels and their corresponding evacuation galleries. Tunnel 1, approximately 3.7 kilometres long, is the longest section of the route and accounts for more than half of the total railway connection.
The infrastructure will feature various systems designed to ensure the safety and proper operation of the facilities, including ventilation, lighting, communications, fire detection and alarm systems, and evacuation systems.
For the monitoring and safety of the tunnels, DURÁN ELECTRÓNICA, as an authorised distributor of YOKOGAWA IBERIA, has supplied a range of solutions, including linear fibre-optic detection systems, DURTOX CO and NO₂ detectors, opacimeters, anemometers, and our new DURNET product.
These systems enable the continuous monitoring of different environmental parameters and safety conditions inside the tunnels, contributing to safer and more efficient management of this major railway infrastructure.
