May 2021. CO and NO2 detection, opacimeters, anemometers, meteorological stations and linear temperature detection.
The Xeresa tunnel is located in the province of Valencia between the terms of Xeresa and Gandía, specifically at kilometer 575 of the AP-7 Valencia – Alicante motorway. It has an approximate length of 477 meters with 2 tubes of two lanes in each direction of traffic reaching an average daily intensity of 10,600 vehicles.
It has undergone a rehabilitation process such as the improvement of the tunnel lining with the superposition of a new layer of 950m3 of concrete. It has the most advanced technology for the automatic detection of incidents and implementation of the protocol in case of emergency, monitoring in real time all security systems such as variable message panels, cameras, access barriers, lighting systems, traffic lights, ventilation etc. The comfort and safety of traffic 24 hours a day is guaranteed with direct coordination from the Sagunto Highway Operations Center.
To comply with Royal Decree 635, on safety requirements in road tunnels, this infrastructure has incorporated opacimeters, anemometers, meteorological stations and linear temperature detection, distributed by Duran Electrónica, as well as the DURTOX detectors for CO and NO2 control designed and manufactured by Durán Electrónica.
