June 2015. CO detection and air quality control in tunnel
The Crespo tunnel is the final feature of the double road from Barranquilla to Cartagena through the coastal route. This infrastructure is intended to decongest the entrance to the city of Cartagena by the northern route. The tunnel has a length of 600 meters, on a road of 2.5 kilometers. The road will connect a section of the coastal route with Santander Avenue.
Alongside the tunnel, a marginal wall 2.5 kilometers long, 7 groynes, and 1.2 million cubic meters of sand have been dumped into the sea with the objective of protecting residential areas from erosion. Over the central section of the tunnel a pedestrian walkway integrated within the neighborhood’s public spaces will be built.
This tunnel is protected by CO detectors manufactured and designed by DURÁN ELECTRÓNICA, as well as by opacimeters distributed by DURÁN ELECTRÓNICA.
