April 2011. CO detection in underground car park.
In Keramikos, Athens, a 5 story underground car park is being built, using existing previous excavations.
Initially ground was excavated for the construction of the Keramikos underground station, but due to problems related to the alignment of the line underneath the archaeological area of Keramikos, the project was abandoned.
Taking into account that the area had already been excavated, the Ministry for Environment, Planning and Public Works made a decision to use the existing excavations, creating an underground car park with 5 levels. Within the scope of this project a provision for a reconfiguration of the area is included, covering around 9,000m2.
The underground car park is protected by the SIEMENS CC62P system with electrochemical sensor detectors, which is supplied by DURAN ELECTRONICA to SIEMENS worldwide.
