December 2012. Air quality control and gas & fire detection in tunnels
At the end of 2012 various infrastructures in the Canary Islands have been inaugurated, constituting some of the most emblematic constructions completed in Spain in the last few years. They include various tunnels for which DURÁN ELECTRÓNICA has supplied, in full or partially, CO and NO2 detectors, luxmeters, opacimeters, anemometers and fire detection both analogue and LHD cable.
These constructions are:
– TUNNELS ON THE PUERTO RICO – MOGÁN HIGHWAY in GRAN CANARIA. In the GC-1 highway from the Lechugal ravine to the Mogán crossing, six couples of tunnel have been built. Of the 12600m of highway, 8500m are now covered by tunnel, which means 60% of the new route. These new tunnels are LECHUGAL, CANDELARIA, TAURO, CURA, TAURINO and MOGÁN.
– The Santa Cruz de Tenerife NEW LITTORAL WAY, by which communication between the city and the port facilities have been improved, and a 500m cut and cover tunnel has been built with two lanes each way.
– The DEL BICHO TUNNEL, main structure of the new Santiago del Teide – Adeje road, included in the Tenerife insular ring road. With a length of 1050m it crosses the de la Hoya Mountain. It offers two roads, one each way, with two lanes each. There are also two galleries communicating both roads, serving as evacuation routes.
