November 2013. CO detection and air quality control in tunnel
This tunnel, that will connect Boulevard Mohammed VI with the Avenue des FAR, has the objective of better organizing traffic in this part of the city and making it more fluid along the Boulevard de la Resistance, which registers a big daily flow of vehicles. The project will also make vehicle traffic easier in the Dakar axis and Boulevard Abdelkrim Khettabi.
The tunnel forms part of a general project with a budget of 240 million Dirham (around 21 million €). With a width of 10 meters and a height of 5,7 meters, the tunnel passes under Boulevard Mohammed V. After its opening, daily traffic around the Boulevard de la Resistance should go down by 40%.
The Dakar tunnel is protected with carbon monoxide CO detectors manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA and by opacimeters and anemometers distributed by DURAN ELECTRONICA.
