Costanera Center is a building complex located in the neighborhood of Providencia, in Santiago, Chile. It is a complex of four buildings located in the intersection of the avenues Andrés Bello and Nueva Tajamar. Its central building, the Gran Costanera Tower, has a total area of 128,000m2 and is 300 meters high including the spiral. With these measurements, Costanera Center includes the highest skyscraper in the country, the second highest in Latin America, and the second in the Southern Hemisphere (after the Q1 Tower in Australia). Towers 1, 3 and 4 have, respectively, a height of 170, 170 and 109 meters.
The building complex includes a shopping center and five star hotels. Three of the four buildings are destined to house offices. The shopping center takes up seven storeys with a total of 300 commercial venues. It includes two hypermarkets with 15000m2 each, multistores, a food court with a panoramic view holding up to two thousand people, an Aventura Center amusement park and 14 cinema screens. To this is added a 5 storey underground parking facility with a capacity for 4,500 vehicles.
The underground car park is protected by the EUROSONDELCO carbon monoxide measuring and detection system. The complex also includes DURTEX HC PRO explosive gas detectors. All this equipment has been designed and manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA.
