April 2013. CO and opacity detection in road tunnel
The Capsacosta tunnels have communicated for nine years the regions of La Garrotxa and Ripollés through the Sant Ponc valley. In total there are four. The longest one, Collabós, is 1,800 meters long. When they were built, they did not include an evacuation gallery because it is not required for tunnels less than 2,000 meters long. However, after accidents like the one in the Mont Blanc tunnel, the Catalonian regional government decided to earmark 6,7 million euros for increasing security measures in Collabós.
These installations are protected by carbon monoxide detectors manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA. For air quality control opacimeters distributed by DURAN ELECTRONICA have been installed.
