April 2012. CO detection and air quality control in tunnel
The opening of the highway stretch of Barranco de la Batalla will benefit more than 25,000 vehicles per day. Roadwork for this new road – which is 4.5 kilometers long and includes four tunnels – has meant an investment of more than 96.6 million euros. The route completes the project as it passes through the El Comtat and l’Alcoiá regions, therefore completing the Mediterranean Carriageway between Alicante and Valencia.
Due to the complex orography tunnels have had to be built, known as the Font Roja tunnels, formed by two double tubes of 900 and 600 meters in length. They are provided of the necessary security systems for the detection of gas, smoke and fire, visibility and air quality.
For CO detection and air quality control detectors manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA have been installed. 4-20mA detectors using an electrochemical sensor for the detection of toxic gases, compatible with any system provided with 4-20mA standard inputs. Compatible with EUROSONDELCO and SIEMENS CC62P (through interface).
In the tunnel there is also installed equipment distributed by DURAN ELECTRONICA such as Opacimeters – electro optical sensors whose function is to measure air opacity through existing particles (suspended dust, gas emissions, fog, rain, snow, etc) – Anemometers – equipment for the measuring of wind speed and direction in the horizontal plane – and Visibility meters – whose function is to measure air visibility through existing particles (suspended dust, gas emissions, fog, rain, snow,etc.).
All detectors manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA have been calibrated in our laboratories and do not need to be recalibrated on site.
