FRECUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Which gases can be detected by EUROSONDELCO?
EUROSONDELCO can detect 9 different toxic gases (CO, H2S, SO2, NO, NO2, HCL, O2, CL2) and any other explosive gas (by using pellistors).
In case of using any standard 4-20mA system, EUROSONDELCO can detect any gas. Only the use of an interface is needed.
Two interfaces can be used in every module line, with a capacity of 8 detectors per interface.
How many detection groups can be made per module line?
When detecting toxic gases, module lines can be divided in 1, 2, or 4 groups. For explosive gases, module lines can be divided into 1 or 2 groups.
Which is the maximum length between the control unit and the last detector installed?
Maximum length is 1000m. for toxic gases and 650m. for explosives.
Is it possible to integrate EUROSONDELCO and a PC?
Yes, integration can be done, although only unidirectionally. With RS232 (from factory) and OPC and MODBUS protocols (OPC and MODBUS require the adquisition of a license for it use).
Can I increase the recommended cable length between control unit and the last detector installed?
Yes, but it will depend on the type of installation.
Besides, consumption has to be taken into account, in order to avoid voltage shortcuts. We recommend consulting our technical department.
Is it necessary to calibrate EURODETECTORS and EUROPELLISTORS at work?
No, it is not necessary, due that DURAN already calibrates all detectors with standard gas before commercializing them.
How are detectors connected?
They are connected by a 4 cable wield shield: 2 x 1,5 mm2 cables for power and 2 x 0,25mm2 cables for communications.
Does the system need any kind of maintenance operations?
No, they are not necessary.
Can I use toxic and explosive gases in the same module line?
Yes, it is possible, if we take into account that for every explosive gas detector two relays have to be used (prealarm and alarm levels).
What maintenance operations are needed for carbon monoxide detectors?
DURAN ELECTRONICA calibrates all detectors beforehand, and therefore, calibration at work is not necessary. It is only recommended to verify the functioning of the detectors and to make the zero adjustment every year.
Once its useful life is ended, sensor must be replaced and the detector calibrated at DURAN factories.
What maintenance operations are needed for explosive gases?
It is recommended to verify with gas the right functioning of all detectors after 3-4 months of their installation.
It is also recommendable to make the zero adjustment every year.
Regarding CO detection, are there different legislations to fulfil?
Yes, EUROSONDELCO is programmed according to the most demanding European norms: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Swiss, Italian and Belgian.
