March 2011. CO detection in car parks.
Madrid City Council has inaugurated the new car parks in Serrano Street, between Alcalá and Hermanos Becquer Streets. In total the three car parks amount to 3,297 parking spaces, which are divided between 2,136 for residents, 188 for small businesses and 947 rotating. 72 of them will be reserved for disabled persons (24 per car park).
The new car parks at Serrano cover a total surface of 90,000 m2 divided in 4 levels by car park, and are equipped with the most modern systems in licence plate reading, guiding vehicles to rotating spaces and carbon monoxide detection.
Along with the building of the car parks, the project has also included reforms in the street at surface level. Thus, pedestrian areas have been doubled, two new lanes for public transport included (one for buses and another for taxis, both also used by motorbikes) and a 2.3 km bicycle lane built.
For this important new infrastructure the EUROSONDELCO CO detection system, manufactured and distributed by DURAN ELECTRONICA, has been selected and installed.
