July 2011. CO and O2 detection in car park and laboratories of CICA.
The Advanced Scientific Investigation Center ( CICA in Spanish) is a new building next to the Technological park of the University of Coruña, and is situated next to the Center for Investigation of Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC). The new construction has a total built surface of 4,900 m2, divided into two blocks of buildings, one with two floors and the other with four, with both sharing the lower floor and an underground level.
The underground level of the CICA is dedicated to a car park and storage area, and communicates directly with the CITIC building. In the lower floor it is planned to include the administration and control services, a seminar room, a cafeteria and a number of middle sized laboratories that will also take over the first floor of the smaller building. In the remaining floors the rest of the laboratories will be installed, among which one with special security against explosions and another dedicated to nuclear investigation stand out.
The underground car park is protected with the DURAN 203 PLUS CO detection and measuring system, and the laboratories by the SIEMENS CC62P system alongside electrochemical sensor oxygen detectors, all designed and manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA and supplied to Siemens worldwide.
